For every pound you lose, it takes 4 pounds of pressure off your knees and 6 pounds off your hips

A small study involving 142 overweight and obese older adults with osteoarthritis of the knee participated in an 18-month weight loss program to determine the impact of weight loss on joints. At the end of the study, it was determined that it takes 4 pounds of pressure off your knees and 6 pounds off your hips for every pound you lose.
