Your body’s sweat glands are what create perspiration and body odour. They are known as apocrine glands and are located in places on your body where you have hair, like your groin and armpits. Knowing the underlying problem, being open with your dermatologist about it, and receiving the appropriate care as soon as possible are all critical.

  4. Medications: Prednisone (Rayos) and escitalopram (Lexapro) are two examples of drugs that may make you sweat a lot. Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), an OTC pain medication, is another potential offender. Your options should be discussed with your healthcare provider. In some circumstances, they could advise changing a drug or adjusting the dosage to assist reduce excessive perspiration.
  5. Pre-existing medical disorders: Hyperhidrosis can be brought on by illnesses like thyroid disease, diabetes, undiagnosed fever, etc. Your doctor should order blood tests to check for them, and they should be managed.
  6. Changes in lifestyle for excessive sweating: In most cases, mild to moderate amounts of sweating don’t require medical attention. You can take actions to improve your comfort and lessen perspiration. For instance, you can rapidly change out of sweaty clothing to lower the risk of bacterial or yeast infections, wear light layers of clothing, preferably made of cotton, that enable your skin to breathe, consume electrolyte-rich beverages or water, etc.
  7. Hair removal: Keep your armpits clean and free of hair to ensure that sweat evaporates rapidly and has less chance to interact with microorganisms. Viruses and bacteria thrive in hair. Laser hair removal methods can also assist to permanently reduce armpit hair growth and sweating.
  8. Skincare procedures: Neuromodulators, also referred to as Botox, relax a substance in the body that causes the sweat glands to become active. Botox injections under the arms might cut sweating by 82–87%. The effects should be repeated after four to six months, when they normally last four to six months.
